Everyone has their favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. Some like 'em caky, others like 'em soft. I like mine chewy and a little bit crisp. After years of searching I finally found my favorite recipe, courtesy of an M&M's bag.
Ingredients:
• 1/2 c butter flavored shortening
• 1/2 c granulated sugar
• 1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
• 1 large egg• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 1/2 c flour
• 1/2 tsp baking soda• 1/8 tsp salt
• 1 c semi-sweet chocolate chipsInstructions:
Preheat oven to 350°. In large bowl, cream butter & sugars until light & fluffy; beat in egg & vanilla. Blend flour, baking soda & salt into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 11-13 minutes, or until edges are slightly browned & centers are still soft. Cool one minute on cookie sheets; cool completely on wire racks. Makes about 3 dozen (unless you're like me & like to eat the dough...then it makes a little less).
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
