Mother's Day

A couple weeks ago I decided to officially celebrate Mother's Day. Ross isn't much for celebrating occassions on exact dates...he's more of a wait-for-the-after-event-deals-to-celebrate kind of guy. Thanksgiving is the exception to this Ross rule. While this used to bother me, over the years I've come to appreciate his frugality and the fact that you can celebrate fun days multiple times a year. And besides, it's not like he didn't do anything for me on the actual day...he let me sleep in, took over diaper duty, and bought me flowers. All fantastic presents for a mother. But since he's always telling me that he owes me presents, and I actually found a few things I wanted, I thought I'd continue the celebration. Check out my great presents below.

Ahhh, a grill. Usually guys are the ones who want these, but in our family, I'm the one who's been begging Ross to get it. Isn't it beautiful? For it's inaugural use I cooked hot dogs. I figured I didn't want to ruin anything good since I'm just learning how to cook on a grill. A few days later I got more creative and grilled some pizza.

This stuff was delicious. So delicious, in fact, I think I'll make some more this weekend. And if you've never had Chicken Pesto pizza, I HIGHLY recommend it. Seriously, come on over and I'll make some for you. It's heavenly.

I also took a shopping trip to Ross Dress for Less and picked up a few other items. I've already used the bamboo cooking spoons. They work great. And I love the red dish towels. Unfortunately they shrunk significantly in the wash. I haven't used the juice pitcher or oil sprayer yet, but I'm looking forward to breaking them in.

This little guy is the best present of all. I absolutely adore this kid. He supplies me with free entertainment, giggles, and tons of love. Thanks, Jack, for making me the luckiest mom ever.

I totally love that you mentioned, "Ross Dress for Less." I always say, "Ross Dress for Less" and it drives certain people crazy. I love that store. Please share your recipe for the pizza. I need.

So, when's the barbeque? :) That grill is awesome! I can't let TJ see that one. He'd be jealous!
